Success in Coaching and Internet Marketing is the Result of Learning from Failure. Don't be stopped by some set backs just learn and move forward.

Nothing absolutely nothing happens until you take action.
That seems like a simple and logical statement but apparently it is not because most people don’t take the actions necessary to be successful on the internet. Do you treat your internet coaching business like a business or a hobby?

Here are some of the things I do to make sure I dedicate the necessary time and energy necessary to make my business a success.
I have scheduled work times.

I have a weekly plan for the repetitive tasks that I need to do.
I have a place where I work that is designed to support my work.
I turn off all distractions like TV, cell phone, and email when I am creating products.
I have a marketing plan and a business plan.
I set goals and measure my accomplishments.

In order to be successful you must set long and short term goals then measure you accomplishments against those goals. If you are not setting and achieving goals then you may have some fear that you are not completely aware of.

Fear- Now if you are not doing these things then why not? Let me suggest fear.

Let’s take a look at fear. All fear is a fear of a feeling, either mental feeling or physical feeling. Now in the internet marketing business we don’t come across many physical fears so I suggest that mental fears are holding you back from achieving success in your business. The best way to overcome fears is to identify them. When you recognize a fear it loses its power and soon vanishes.

Fear of failure

Fear of failure is a huge problem for many people. Many people will not even try something for fear that they may fail. Well, let’s just take care of that one right now…you will fail! You may even fail repeatedly. I certainly have failed many times.

Failing is how we learn what to do to succeed. Would you tell a toddler who was learning to walk to stop trying just because they fell down once? No, because you know that the toddler will have to try many times before they will walk successfully.

You are bigger and you are older but you are not that much different than that toddler. I know I was barely crawling when I started my internet business. Soon I began to take a few steps forward and I fell backward many times. Heck, I still fall down all the time but I get up, figure out what I need to do different and try again until I succeed. People who quit or don’t start always fail.

You have to fail in order to learn. That is just the process of learning so I don’t know why it is that we were all taught it was not OK to fail. It is admirable to fail as long as you learn from it and try again.

So hurry up start failing so you can succeed!

The biggest problem coaches have when they are starting out is deciding on and defining a target coaching niche. I had the same trouble because I thought if I narrowed my niche to a specific target then I would be eliminating too many people and it would be more difficult to get coaching clients.

You must narrow your niche to be able to reach and communicate with people effectively. When you have a strong interest or a passion for a particular group or niche then you are far more attractive to that group and you are better able to communicate effectively.

Turning a passion or a hobby into a vocation is a great way to determine a target coaching niche. Many people spend a lifetime working at a job that has nothing to do with the things they are passionate about. Your passion for your coaching niche is a very attractive component to a successful coaching business.

Accomplishments

Coaches forget to take into consideration all of their accomplishments especially when they are not education or work related. Perhaps you have done charity work in a specific field and excelled in that area.

Many people are superb at one aspect of their job but it is not an aspect that is praised or valued so they don’t realize how much they have accomplished. For example, leadership is an area that is seldom truly recognized or celebrated.

A good way to recognize your accomplishments as they relate to your potential niche is to examine the ways in which you have best served others. What ways have you been instrumental in helping others overcome challenges or reach their goals?

Gifts and Talents

This is another area where most coaches have one superior quality that they don’t recognize until they examine it closer. Most of us have a unique gift or talent that has been evident since we were children but often that gift or talent is not one that is acknowledge by society in a big or official way.

Many coaches are great listeners with huge compassion filled hearts. They seem to be the person in a group or in a family that everyone turns to for consultation of advice. This is often an unrecognized gift or talent. Perhaps you are a great writer and you have a way of inspiring others through your writing. You could be a great story teller and help others by relating your message through story.

Each of us has special gifts and talents as a person and as a coach and you will have the most success when you are able to use your gifts and talents to help those you coach.

An effective marketing campaign can be the boost your coaching business needs to dramatically increase your bottom line and help you make a postivie effect in many lives. Avoid common pitfalls and your advertising will be the effective tactic you desire. Your advertising should provide you a high return on investment. Let’s talk about several deadly mistakes that you should avoid.

Making Your Marketing Message About You

It amazes me to see how many coaches feature all their credentials, education, and history at the top of their website. Get this statement perfectly clear, it is not about you!

Your website is there to share with clients and potential client how you can help them. You want to share your knowledge, skills, and experience with them to help them. Your website is not a platform to brag about how great you are because they don’t care.

Clients have a problem they want you to help them solve and all they care about is how you are going to do that. Your qualifications only matter to the client if they are part of your reasoning for how you are going to be the best fit to help them overcome their challenges and solve their problems. Make a list of the most common problems, goals and challenges your potential clients have so that you can develop system to help the client discover options and a solution.

If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It

That is an old Texas saying but it is not true in today’s modern electronic world. You have to be ahead of the curve and doing things the way you always have done them is not going to get you where you need to go.

Sure there are tried and true ways to do things but in marketing you need to do more and do it better than the other person. Innovation and progress is more favorable for a new business. Try things you have not ever done before. Give a seminar, hold a workshop, give a teleclass, use Google Adwords, write articles, get a blog talk radio show, or hold a webinar.

Do everything you can think of to increase traffic to your website and increase the number of people on your contact list. Albert Einstein said insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results so do something different if you want better results. Do three things that you have not done to market you coaching business and you will see positive results.

Try new things to market your coaching business and make sure that everything you do focuses on how you can better help and support your clients.
