Get Coaching Cleints by Being Who You Are and Knowing Your Target Coaching Niche
August 20, 2009
The more specific you make your marketing material the more response you will get. Target the challenges of your coaching niche and increase their awareness of the level of discomfort they have due to those challenges. Show them that there is a solution and that you can help them resolve their problems and reach their goals.
Be sure to provide social proof by providing testimonials from others with similar problems that you have helped overcome their challenges. Avoid common pitfalls and your advertising will be the effective tactic you desire.
Trying to Be Right for Everyone
Too many coaches resist picking a specific target coaching niche because they are afraid they will not have enough clients if they narrow down the possibilities. This is just the opposite of what turns out to be true. You must narrow your niche before you can market to their specific needs, challenges and desires.
It is impossible to target advertising dollars to a market we cannot define. You must have a carefully chosen and defined target coaching niche if you want to have a successful advertising effort.
Make your message a message that hits home with your target coaching niche. Make sure it addresses the pains they are feeling and want to do away with. Your message should point to those pains and demonstrate that you have a solution that works. Use testimonials and stories to demonstrate your positive results.
Research and make sure that your chosen target market is a profitable one. Not all markets are markets that have the income and desire to coach. Make sure that your market is one that will be profitable.
Choose and define your target coaching niche. Who is your target coaching niche are they male or female? What is their age, income, education, and location? What are their major challenges? Are they a market that can spend money on coaching and are they willing to do so?
It is also important to avoid trying to be someone you are not. Just being yourself is far more effective that trying the be the perfect professional coach or some other person you imagine you should be or want to pretend to be.
Being a Fake, Lying, Cheating, or Stealing
If you work from home there is a temptation to make it look like you have some big business and you are a busy executive with all sorts of assistants. Give it up everyone can see through that garbage and the truth is they will envy you when your business is making a lot of money and it is simple to run.
The rest of this lesson is simple because all I have to say is don’t do it and if you do it will catch up to you! Don’t knowingly tell a lie. Do not ever take anything that is not yours. Never do anything underhanded to get ahead. All of those things will backfire on you in a heartbeat and the price you pay will be far greater than anything you could possibly gain. You personal integrity is worth too much to throw it away.
Knowing your target coaching niche and being authentic will make you the most attractive coach you can be and if you have chosen a profitable target coaching niche you will find success.
