Increase Traffic to Your Coaching Website with Article Marketing
March 1, 2009
You are a new coach and you have a great new coaching website or blog with an opt-in box that entices people to give you their contact information in exchange for something of value that you are offering. Now it is time for you to begin driving traffic to your website through article marketing.
Sit down and write
Yes, you have to sit down at the computer and write an article that is relevant to your target-coaching niche. Great idea but how are you going to think of something to write? I suggest that you think of some of the dominant problems that your target niche faces and use those as your topics. If you are not sure what your target coaching niche is then you need to get "Coaching Business Blast Off" where I walk you through the process of deciding on a target coaching niche and all the basic coaching business decisions you will need to make.
5 Steps, 3 Secrets, or 3 Things to avoid
Pick a topic and begin by writing a 5 steps article. Think of five things that a person can do to overcome the challenge you have chosen. If you cannot come up with five steps
, try three secrets. Everyone loves to get in on a secret so these articles are always traffic builders. You can also think of three things a person would want to avoid doing to prevent or stop a challenge from happening.
Great ideas can always be made better
The hardest part of writing an article is getting the main idea for the article. In today’s world there are many authors writing about the same topics in very different ways so I suggest that you look for topics in your niche in article directories. You never want to copy someone’s article directly but you can gain great ideas by scanning the article topics listed in an article directory and skimming some of the main ideas. You may pull together three different main ideas from three different authors and then add your own in depth content to make the article your own.
Improve your search ranking and get known
Submit your articles to article directories and article distributors to increase your search engine rankings. When your articles are picked up and published by others in ezines, you will improve your search engine rankings and become known as an expert in your niche.
Market in the body of your article
There are hundreds of ways to market your coaching in the body of your article. You can use stories about past successes and solutions you have used to help others. Identifying the pain and challenges of your target niche positions you as an expert in their minds because you have a detailed knowledge of their problem. I give you a step by step process to follow for marketing your coaching business in my "No Sales Client Attraction" home study program.
Link it up
Use links to your blog, products, and other articles to attract people to your coaching business. You can dramatically increase the traffic to your blog by adding links in your articles. You can also add links to your product and affiliate products to increase your revenues. If the subject of your article ties to another article be sure to link the two and increase readership.
Use the resource box
The resource box is the workhorse for directing readers to your blog or website. This is the last thing you do before submitting your article so many coaches rush through the process and miss out on an important marketing tool. I would like to list a few do’s and do not’s for your resource box.
DO
Make sure you put your name and web address spelled correctly in your resource box. You would be surprised how many people rush through this and misspell their own name or website address incorrectly.
Tell the reader about yourself so they can get to know you. Include a few sentences that let the reader know about what you do and how that can benefit them.
Include a free resource so the ready can experience you and your coaching style. This is a great place to offer a special report, ecourse, or ebook.
Add a call to action. Tell you reader exactly how to get your free resource and make sure you get their name and email address in exchange.
Don’t
Misspell your name or web address URL.
Use hype words like skyrocket or guaranteed.
Display a charge for your services.
Forget to have a link that takes the reader to an opt-in page to get their free product.
