Get Coaching Clients: Blogging for Profit and Promotion Part One

March 31, 2009

When blogging was new, blogs were used as journals or
personal diaries. Today business blogs are very different and are used to serve
and promote business sales and promotion. Business blogs are used to generate
traffic, attract potential customers, increase expert status, and sell
products.

To be successful in the market today you need to have a
blog. I think it is more important than a website because of the SEO advantages
a blog offers. Please consider starting a blog if you do not have one already. I suggest you use Typepad because it is so inexpensive and easy to use. You can literally have a blog up in an hour or less.

Reaching
your target coaching niche customer through blogging is a process that takes consistency
and time.

This is a long term process and it requires consistent effort
and blog contributions. You must post to your blog on a regular basis and your
blog posts must be consistently high quality.

You must keep your posts relevant and compelling to keep
readers

coming back to your blog for product and information. You should post
fresh and relevant information to your blog 3-5 times per week.

Far too many coaches start a blog and post to it for a
month or even two then stop posting and wonder why they are not getting any
traffic. You have to work at attraction marketing and you have to work on a
consistent basis.

There are no get rich quickly tricks! You have to write
interesting blog posts on a regular basis. Write about challenges that face
your target coaching niche or goals that they may want to work toward. That is why I created my "Inner Circle" mentor group to keep you engaged and accountable in your marketing process.

Blogging
lets coaching clients get to know, like and trust you.

The attraction marketing process requires that customers
know, like and trust you and your blog is your best conduit to reach these
goals. It is important that you write in a friendly casual style when you post
to your blog. This writing is like a conversation with a friend rather than a
formal article or report.

Your blog should be very easy to read and be highly
conversational to create the necessary positive relationship for increased
sales. Your writing should build trust and credibility in the mind of the
reader and at the same time keep the reader informed about the benefits they
will receive when they purchase your products or services.

Your
blog must create a connection with your readers who are your target coaching
niche.

Be sure to write from the heart and include your
personality and your perspective. It is fine to date to be a little radical,
different or even provocative because this will get your readers involved in
your writing and encourage them to contribute their opinions in the form of
comments.

You can entice your readers by using emotional words and
phrases that punch their hot buttons. Think of motivating and provocative words
to use in your blog posts to keep your readers excited about your topic.

Good stuff, Suzan, thanks. Very informative blog! Indeed, I did not learn this in coaching school!
