Driving Traffic to Your Coaching Business Blog or Website Part 1
February 27, 2009
Coaches constantly tell me that they have a blog or a website but they are not getting any clients from their site and they are becoming discouraged. Let me start by saying that building an internet business and internet marketing is a lot of work! It takes many hours of persistent strategic marketing to attract customer to your website and even more to get them to buy.
This article will touch on several ways to drive traffic to your website and get people to enroll in your database. I will cover article marketing, blog posting, teleclasses, ebooks, and social media. To build a large client base you will need to use all of these marketing tools on a regular basis.
Article Marketing
Many people who publish ezines are looking for content to include in their publications and they find that content in article directories. An article directory collects articles from hundreds or thousands of authors on hundreds of subjects and provides them to publishers of all types. I use
Ezine articles to publish my articles.
These publishers are able to use the content from these articles as long as they give the author credit by including the information that the author provides in their resource box. The resource box is where the author provides a profile and information like a web address for their site or blog.
As an author of articles in your coaching niche, you can have your article, name and website information published in a variety of publications by simply writing and submitting your articles to article directories. You will gain a following of people who enjoy your writing and will go to your website to see what other things you have to offer. Article writing is also a great way to increase your status as an expert in your niche.
Blog Postings
A business blog is a site where you write short posts about subjects that are of interest to people in your coaching niche. These posts can be anywhere from 200 to 500 words in length and will pertain to your coaching specialty.
Business blogs often look just like websites and contain information about your products and services. I use Typepad for this blog. You should have a blog that includes an effective home page, product and services page, about page, and resource page. Blogs are a tool to let potential clients know what you do and how your services can help them.
The main purpose of your blog is to provide attractive and informative blog posts that potential clients will come back frequently to read and learn from. The content of your blog must be unique and informative enough to keep clients coming back.
