New Year Is a Great Time to Sign Up New Clients

December 31, 2008

Many businesses struggle in January but it is boom time for coaching. People are predisposed to making changes in their lives at this time of year. Get out and get some speaking opportunities where you can talk about the process of change. Do a workshop on the topic of change.

Workshop Outline

You can develop a workshop that inspires people to define they changes they would like to make, gives them a plan for making those changes and holds them accountable for the changes. Gear the workshop to the group you are talking to for example

if I were talking to salespeople I would talk about changes that are necessary to sell more in a depressed market.

Three Areas of Change

Ask the participants to list three thing they need to change to get the improved results they want. Use the wisdom of the group to suggest all the possible changes and write the possibilities on a presentation pad for all to see.

Help the participants list all the possible positive outcome these changes will bring about for them or their business. This helps people become a part of your workshop and it helps them to see how your coaching can positively effect their life.

Strategies for Change

Ask each participant to write down three areas they will change and two or three ways (strategies) they will use to make those changes happen. This is an easy way to develop a three stage plan for change that they can take action on immediately.

Encourage Accountability

Encourage them to take action and see results right away by choosing one action for each area of change that they can take over the next two weeks. Then ask them to exchange contact information with the person next to them so they can contact each other for a follow up in two weeks. Ask for Introductory Coaching Sessions

You will excite and inspire your audience to begin the process of change, be seen as an expert, and have a great opportunity to promote your coaching business and set up introductory coaching sessions like crazy. Be sure to offer introductory coaching sessions at the end of your presentation and collect contact information from audience members.
