Get Coaching Clients: Make People Crazy for an Introductory Session

November 24, 2008

Does it make you nuts when you offer a free introductory session and people are not eager or don’t take you up on your offer?

People have to perceive value before they will get excited and eager to have an introductory session even if it is free.  There is a way to position your introductory session that will make people crazy for it.

Make your offer exciting and irresistible by giving is a powerful headline.

Magazines have done this for decades to attract readers who are just skimming the front cover.  You can use this same time tested method by giving your introductory session

a powerful headline.  The session has to offer something that excites the client and lets them know, you know what they want.

Let the Client Know They Will Get What they Want or Need from the Session.

Assure the client that the session will help them get what they want.  People are motivated when you can solve a problem or fulfill a need and relieve the pain they are experiencing.  Let them know exactly what they will get from the session.

Create a Sense of Urgency or Scarcity.

When something is easy and will be available forever, we humans don’t want it.  That is just human nature.  Now, take that same thing and make available in a limited time or a limited amount and we must have it now!  How many times have you bought something that you had a moderate desire for but it was on sale and you were afraid not miss out on that price?  Make your offer available for a limited time, in a limited amount or for a special price to make people crazy for it and make them buy now. You can get the amazing never fail introductory coaching session script I use when you buy "Coaching Business Blast Off".

What I Learned

1)  My introductory sessions must have perceived value.

2)  Show the client that you understand them and can ease their pain.

3)  Set time or quantity limits for you offer.
